Some have resigned from the rat race, and seek a different work life balance. Some like the challenge of a plurality of interests.

Some are in full time employment, and see an NED role as career development experience.

Others wish to combine a mixture of voluntary and paid assignments. The important thing is to decide why it appeals to you, to ensure that you focus on the appropriate vacancies.
